This just has to be the most exciting new launch of the year. With so many innovative and unique features, Flit really is something VERY special! Weighing under 6 grams – completely ready to fly – it is powered by a geared micro motor and featherweight carbon fibre propeller.
Supplied in its own aluminium storage case, it uses a system of tiny magnets to retain the wing and locate the tail surfaces. Needless to say, assembly is quick and effortless taking less than a minute from opening the case. Control is taken care of with a custom infra-red transmitter operating throttle and rudder/elevator magnetic actuators. Despite the controls' simplicity, the Flit is remarkably manoeuvrable and able to be flown in the tiniest of spaces. And with a flying speed as low as 1.5mph, it means the Flit is perfect for flying in homes, gymnasiums – or even the office!
With such a low weight, the risk of breakage is minimal too. Especially when you learn that the model is manufactured from tough film over a carbon rod framework. As everything simply pops apart in the event of a crash, it looks like everything has been thought of!
